Article Summary

The appearance and use of your Remote Access portal differs depending on whether you are a user or an administrator.

Remote Access for IOT Devices (Vendor/User/Technician View)

Remote Access is a portal for remote users, usually third-party vendors and technicians, to reach your company’s IOT devices that they need to do their work. Once logged into Remote Access, users select devices from the Access pane on their User Profile to login using their device credentials.

For more information on Remote Access portal usage, see Using Remote Access for Remote Device Access.

Administrative Management of Remote Access Users and Devices (Administrator View)

To manage users and devices, Remote Access administrators login to Remote Access administrator tools. The initial Remote Access administrator’s view shows the Dashboard, a summary of user sessions and device metrics. The left navigation bar has tab icons for pages that the admin uses for managing users and devices, including:

  • Dashboard — Find an overview of user sessions and device metrics
  • Users — Manage and view details about users
  • Inventory — Manage and view details about device endpoints
  • Groups — Manage and view details about groups (also called roles), which are associations between one or more users and one or more devices
  • Audit — Find details about user sessions
  • Org Profile — Manage orgs, single sign-on, or org policy for multifactor authentication
  • User Profile — Find user settings, device access pane, and user activity. Users access devices from the User Profile.
